BOTOX and other wrinkle relaxers are popular treatments that address facial wrinkles and fine lines without extensive surgery using neuromodulators. Botulinum toxin A, better known as BOTOX, is primarily used to reduce the visible appearance of wrinkles caused by aging and muscle movement.
It targets dynamic wrinkles, which form when facial muscles contract during expressions like laughing, smiling, or squinting. BOTOX is derived from a specific type of bacteria (Bacterium Clostridium) that blocks nerve signals that cause muscle contractions when injected. As a result, the injected muscles relax, leading to smoother skin and diminished wrinkles.
